Lytchi
Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to model for one of my close friends new brand, “lytchi” ( https://www.instagram.com/lytchi.xyz/ ). Specifically, he wanted me to help model his clothes. I’ve never modeled before so obviously I was a bit nervous but, i was mostly excited!
The Shoot
For the actual shoot, I knew that a few of my other friends were also asked to model so we were all scheduled to meet up at this house with a pool that he rented for the shoot. The people there were a mix of my friends, mutual friends and some small instagram influencers. When the shoot began, everyone seemed to be so photogenic! Sadly, I am not photogenic. I found modeling to be a challenge, I didn’t know where to look or how to pose. I just lacked the confidence that everyone had. Though no one there was judgemental, actually giving me advice on how to pose and etc, I was still doubting myself.
What I Learned
Though I lacked the confidence, I still had a lot of fun. Just watching everyone in their element posing made me realize that confidence really is everything. Not caring about what others think is such a valuable trait, if you try to please others in fear of them judging you, you’re not being your true self. I know that when im with close friends and people that im comfortable with, I can be my complete self. Once others are put in the picture, I lose that aspect of my self. That being said, everyone at the shoot all had the confidence that I wish I had. Next time I get asked to do anything out of my comfort zone Ill embrace it. New experiences are so valuable, if you never step out of your comfort zone you’ll never grow. So i guess what im trying to say is, dont be afraid of taking new experiences and potentially making a fool out of yourself.
